Relief to Daniel Pearl’s killer couldn’t have come without Pakistan government nod

Omar Saeed Sheikh was accused of murdering Daniel Pearl in February 2002 in Karachi and had been sentenced to death in the case by an anti-terrorism court. At that time, Pearl was in Pakistan investigating links of Al-Qaeda with shoe bomber Richard Reid.
