From today, Delhi Police to levy on-the-spot fines for traffic violations

Till now, Delhi Police was issuing just 5000-7000 challans per week due to the limited capacity of courts. The new provision may prompt Delhi Police to issue more challans, Times of India has claimed. The report also claimed that the Delhi Police may start using old data of speed cameras to issue new challans.
