India to cite Lautenberg if US raises CAA, religion

The Lautenberg Amendment helps certain persecuted religious minorities in the erstwhile Soviet Union get US citizenship. The amendment was extended to include ‘persecuted minorities’ from Iran in 2004, through the Specter Amendment.
