Countdown to Trump visit starts; but no progress on trade deal

Frustration, accumulated over two years of negotiations, is turning into anger at what some are calling the great Indian stalling game. There is a sense that India was more interested in getting a visit than working out a trade deal. India was declared a “developed” country last week, making it ineligible for preferential treatment in certain global trade practices.
